Our State Officers

Katharyn Holm

State President

Hello! My name is Katharyn (Katie) Holm and for the 2024-2025 year, I am your State President. I am a Junior pursuing a degree in Material Science and Engineering with a minor in Spanish. This year will have been my 7th year of being in FBLA starting as a freshman in high school.

Some of my goals for the year as President is to communicate more to the other chapters about what is happening at the state level. As well as making sure that the chapters know they are supported and at any time they need help the State Officers are here to help them. Along with that, I want to be able to grow but retain the members that we currently have. For our organization to prosper we need to focus on our members as well as membership. With all of that being said the way that I can accomplish this is working with my team but more importantly, working with everyone in the state to make sure that we make Arizona FBLA Collegiate what we want it to be.

While being in FBLA Collegiate, I am a part of other organizations outside of Arizona State University. I am a lifetime Gold Award Girl Scout and now mentoring active Girl Scouts to achieve their gold award, an advisor for Arizona Job’s Daughters, and the current State Youth Coordinator for Arizona DeMolay. With that being said I will use the experiences and leadership skills that I have gained from my other organizations to use in FBLA Collegiate to make it better not just for me but for the members across the state.

Jaydn Ferris

Executive Vice President

I am pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Business Science with a concentration in Entrepreneurship. I believe in empowering others and fostering collaboration to achieve dreams and uplift our communities. Together, we can achieve more.

Maxwell Sweet

VP of Marketing

My name is Max Sweet, your Arizona FBLA Vice President of Marketing for the 2024-25 school year. I’m a third-year student at ASU planning to graduate with a degree in Global Management through the Thunderbird School, currently working part-time in hospitality while completing school.

For the 2023-2024 school year, I was President of the Phoenix College FBLA chapter as well as a member of the Phoenix College Phi Theta Kappa chapter, recognized internationally for our projects completed this year. With work experience across multiple industries in sales and management, I’ve led projects and achieved metric goals to optimize and develop internal business processes and external practices.

Goals I look to achieve during my year as VP of Marketing are improved communication and collegiate recruitment. Using my past work experience, including digital advertising and client management, and current learning with ASU, I first want to improve our State FBLA communication infrastructure. Secondly, I want to promote a consistent relationship between local Arizona FBLA chapters with their nearby high school FBLA advisors to create recruitment presentations for future collegiate FBLA members.

Tirso Tonche

State Advisor

My name is Tirso Tonche, and I am your Arizona FBLA Interim State Advisor. I am excited to take the next step in my journey as your State Advisor.

My involvement with FBLA began in 2015 as a General Member at Phoenix College. I quickly took on more responsibility, serving as the State Executive Vice President in 2016 and 2017, and was elected President in 2018. After my term as President, I continued supporting FBLA as the Assistant to the State Advisor in 2019 and as the Officer Liaison from 2020 to 2024.

In May of 2024, I was officially appointed as the State Advisor for FBLA Collegiate by the Arizona FBLA Board of Trustees. I have been preparing to take over as the State Advisor for the past year and a half under the leadership and guidance of Mike Manion. I am excited to continue working with each of the state officers, chapter advisors, and local members.

Together, we can positively impact the organization as one Arizona FBLA Collegiate.

Jerman Carrera

Officer Liaison

My name is Jerman Carrera, and I am your Arizona State Officer Liaison. My primary responsibilities include supporting the state officer team and fulfilling any additional duties assigned by the state advisor.

I have been deeply involved with FBLA for nearly 10 years, beginning in high school. I am a two-time national winner at the FBLA National Leadership Conference, a Who's Who award recipient, and the founder of the Phoenix College chapter. Additionally, I served twice as the State Executive Vice President. I recently graduated from ASU with an MBA in marketing and am currently working in operations for Amazon.

My goal is for the Arizona chapter to be one of the top three chapters in the nation. However, I can't achieve this alone; I need your help. Please feel free to reach out if you have any ideas or questions about FBLA Collegiate. I am excited to continue my involvement with FBLA and help our chapter make history.
